Navigate and orbit the 3D model
Your 3D Model, Oblique, and Gaussian Splat tabs all put a fully rotatable, three-dimensional version of your site on screen. You can circle it, tilt it, zoom into any corner, and even drop down to ground level. Everything works the same way across those three views, so once you learn one you know them all.
With a mouse (desktop or laptop)
- Orbit (spin around the site) — Hold the left mouse button and drag. The model rotates around its center, so you can look at it from any side, from straight above, or from below.
- Pan (slide the view) — Hold the right mouse button and drag to shift the model left, right, up, or down without rotating.
- Zoom — Scroll your mouse wheel (or use a two-finger scroll on a trackpad). Scroll up to move in closer, down to pull back.
- Recenter on a spot — Double-click any point on the model and the camera re-centers there — handy for focusing on one building, tree, or feature.
With touch (tablet or touchscreen)
- Move around — Drag with one finger.
- Zoom — Pinch with two fingers to zoom in and out.
- Rotate the 3D view — Drag with two fingers to orbit and tilt.
Tip: On a phone, the 3D Model and Point Cloud tabs offer a download link instead of rendering in-browser, so the heaviest 3D loads stay smooth. The Gaussian Splat, 2D Map, 360, and Flyover all run right on your phone. See View your maps on phone or tablet for the full picture.
Reset the camera if you get lost
Spun somewhere confusing? You have two quick ways back:
- Press the R key to recenter the camera on the whole site.
- Use the Reset control in the bottom toolbar (it's always within thumb reach on mobile).
Explore at ground level (Tripod / Walk)
Beyond orbiting from the outside, you can drop to eye level and walk the scan on foot:
- Open the camera-mode control (top-right) and choose Walk (or Tripod to stand still and look around).
- Drag to look around.
- Use the W A S D keys or the arrow keys to walk; hold Shift to move faster.
- Double-click the ground to teleport and re-stand at that spot.
- Press Esc any time to pop back out to the normal orbit view.
See every shortcut
Inside any 3D view, press ? or H to open the full keyboard-shortcuts panel — orbit, pan, zoom, recenter, and view-toggle keys all in one place. Press Esc or click away to close it.
Save or share the exact angle
Found a view worth keeping? Use Copy view link in the top bar to share the exact camera angle with someone, or star it as a Saved View to give that spot its own link and QR code you can return to later.
